Winter Club Kit Order-UPDATED

Following ton from the feedback and AGM, we have revised the winter kit design to more like the existing jacket (see below). This is still the Windstopper Winter Jacket, the Bibtights have been updated to the Sorpasso style. The new bibtights do not allow for as much design due to the panelling, but the item is a better piece of kit. They are infact more exspensive but Castelli will honour the same figure for our order. They have the same Air Pad as the Volo shorts. Again we’ll require min order of 10 per item.

The club committee and Noel Waldron will manage the kit order through and can answer any questions. Size Guide below as well. We are aiming to send off ASP 18.11.18 Latest. Order and payment can be made using the clothing order form HERE.

TT Series Round-up

As the days start to shorten, we say farewell to another VCB/KiT TT series and it’s been one of the best in recent years.  The dreaded roadworks only affected one event and we had a good number of riders out each week and excellent support from volunteers from both clubs and others roped in to help.

VC Bristol Open TT is a Success

Velo Club Bristol Open 10 Mile TT on the U102 Iron Acton 08/04/2018

Having had to cancel two open events on this course last year due to road works, we were delighted that we were finally able to host our annual event on Sunday.  Conditions on the day were dry, with winds of 8/9 mph.  The U102 is an out and back sporting course along a B road.

Jon Gates had the honour of being last man off and he didn’t disappoint, winning the event with a cracking time of 21:39. Nick Livermore came second with a time of 22.21, narrowly pipping third place James Cook by just one second. James finished with a time of 22.22.

We were delighted with the number of female riders, who totalled over 20% of the field.  First female with an impressive time of 24.01 was Elizabeth Bennett, second place Megan Dickerson 24.42 and third place went to Lauren Johnston 25.53.

The Vets competition was based on VTTA standard times which Jon Gates would have won, however we only gave out one prize per person.  First place went to Rick Johnston (-3.30), second Luke Smith (-3.21) and third Mike Cox (-3.05).

The fastest team was Bristol South CC smashing it with a total time of 69.58.

There are some fantastic photos of the event courtesy of Rich Lewton – http://www.richlewtonphotography.co.uk/Photos/2018/VC-Bristol-Open-10-U102/
