Winter 2017 Turbo Training Series (No.8 of 8)

Come along to our structured intensity turbo training sessions, courtesy of Mr. Chris Davis (British Cycling Level 2 Coach). He will take you deep into the pain cave, and you will love it..!

Where
The Batch Community Centre, Park Rd, Warmley, Bristol BS30 8EB
Now in larger Lear Room!

When

Every Tuesday evening (8 wks) starting from 31st October 2017 through to 19th December. Evenings start from 7pm through to 8.30pm finish.

What

All the sessions will be based on some form of intensity work as riders can do endurance at other times. This needs to be made very clear so that everyone knows what to expect. Of course, intensity is relevant to each individual and riders can choose how hard to ride!
Riders need to get to the venue in time to set up and be ready to roll all at the same time. Latecomers will miss the warm-up which will be an integral part of the session.

What to bring

Turbo (rollers won’t really do the job for the sessions planned) *
Towel(s), Drink, Heart Rate Monitor (not necessary if using power meter values). Showers available afterwards.

Who
Chris Davis is a British Cycling level 2 coach currently working with both individuals and the Cunga Pro Cycling Womens Track Team. Holds regular coaching sessions at the Wales National Velodrome. Chris is also a British Weight lifting Association coach and runs a Sports Injury Therapy practice. Chris is also an active competitive cyclist and has had (age-related) wins on the road and track this year including National and European titles.

Costs

£5 per session paid on the night or save and pay £30.00 for complete 8 week course (just £3.75 per session!)

I would like to come along to the sessions. Is there still room? I do not have a heart rate monitor or meter. Thanks

    • David Rutty says:

      Hi Claire,
Thanks for your message, yes you’re very welcome to come along. Ideally a heart rate monitor will help you measure and gauge your efforts etc but if you haven’t got one yet no problem. You can turn up on the night for £5 to try it first or pay for the series.
      Thanks VCB

      • Claire Graham says:

Hi Dave thank you for your reply. I have just paid for the series but the response email indicated that I had signed up for the January session instead of the October session. Is this an error or something I have done incorrectly?

        • David Rutty says:

Hi Claire, great I suspect that’s still in the backend from the previous series that will run. We have 2 x 8 week series before and after Christmas. I’ll speak to the guy who creates the forms and check but sounds like you’ve done everything correctly. See you on the 31st!

  2. Chris hope says:

Yeah not in your club any chance could train on you’re turbo nights many thanx Chris

  3. Tim W says:

    Hi,
Is this open to non members? I’m keen to come along this evening if there is still space?
    Thanks,
    Tim
