With a good number of riders in Mallorca for 2 weeks training, the racing season kicked off a little later than normal for VCB.
Matt Dunsbier finished 8th at Ilton 3/4’s on the 2nd March. Then we had four riders at Llandow crits on 23rd. Lee Davis, Lee Francis, Matt Dale and Jon Gates all rode well with Jon finishing in 8th in a bunch sprint. The following weekend VCB moved across to the road with Jon, Kieran Murphy and Greg Lancaster riding the Bristol South RR. This hilly race (8 times up Stowey) was a hard test but the lads came through really well, with Jon 7th and Greg 8th in a small select front group of around 20 riders!
Kieran continued on the following weekend at Pittards RR, finishing in the front group, just outside the top 20.
A great start to the road season and the guys will be joined by more VCB riders in April as the season gathers momentum!
